Aesthetic surgery is a medical intervention and, like any, carries risk. At Selenya we put safety at the centre of our processes.
Pre-operative conditions
- No surgery is performed without the anaesthetist's approval.
- Surgery is postponed in cases of pregnancy, active infection or uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension.
- No surgery is performed on patients under 18 without parental consent and a psychological assessment; patients with unrealistic expectations are not offered surgery.
- BMI, smoking and medication are evaluated for surgical safety.
Risks and complications
Risks such as bleeding, infection, wound-healing problems, anaesthesia-related reactions, deep vein thrombosis and asymmetry exist in all surgery; their frequency varies by procedure and patient. These risks are explained in detail in the written consent form and discussed with your surgeon before signing.
Revision and guarantee
An aesthetic result cannot be guaranteed, but our commitments on surgical technique and patient safety are written. For revision procedures judged necessary, no surgeon's fee is charged (hospital and anaesthesia costs excluded) and the revision period is the first 12 months after surgery.
